Gimp: Draw a Simple Tree

I created the image using a transparent background and then used different brush tools to make the tree. For the leaves i did a small cluster of leave which i then copied and flipped to the other side of the tree trunk. I then marge the images down.

I started with a layer of  760 px by 100px. I then picked a gradient. i then placed the trees on a new layer. I also add the word using the text tool
