I placed the map image over the lake house image  and lowered the Opacity.  I then used the pen (path) tool to select the sky. I added a Black mask to make the map visible in the sky which I then merge together. I duplicated the image 3 times.
Each duplicated image was made into a smart layer which i then add different filters.


BOOKCOVER
I opened a new document 7 inches wide and 9 inches tall which i then placed the Maine image on. I used the shape tool for the oval and rectangle. I used the text tool for the words.
